About Us

My name is Staar Fields, Founder of The Give Away Foundation. The mission of my foundation is to help special needs children and their families, I know how it feels to need help.

When my son Gabriel was born, he only weighed 1 lb. 10 oz. His twin sister Grace was just as fragile and passed away six days later. Gabriel has since been diagnosed with severe autism and is completely nonverbal.

As a military family, we have moved often, and there have been times when I felt bewildered trying to find resources for my child. As a singer, songwriter and recording artist, I began to write music to provide hope and inspiration to families in need. I  have performed for over 150,000 people during the past 5 years for Jacksonville Florida’s March of Dimes; Autism Speaks; Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, Girls Inc.; The American Dream Factory; Family Café (the world’s largest disability conference); and The Gifted Learning Center (a school for Autism and other special needs).

Through my Foundation, I hope to reach an even broader audience and to encourage and uplift people through positive music. I currently operate as a independent recreational therapist teaching voice lessons and zumba to children with special needs and have plans to expand my program to showcase the unique abilities and to provide resources to children with special needs and their families. I am especially interested in helping military families who may find that multiple relocations bring additional stress to taking care of their special needs children.

By supporting The Give Away Foundation you will become a member of a collaborative network committed to making a difference in the lives of  people in need.
